Cumming to Hall Phase 1 Project

The project involved the installation of a total of approximately 57,223 linear feet (LF), or 10.83 miles, of sixteen-inch (16”) high pressure (HP) steel gas main through the rolling hills of North Georgia. This included multiple open cut creek crossings and was constructed within newly acquired right-of-way (ROW). The route presented several topographical and geological challenges that required strategic planning and execution.

Of the total footage, approximately 46,614 LF (8.65 miles) of sixteen-inch (16”) HP steel main was installed using open lay methods. In addition, six horizontal directional drills (HDDs) were completed in rock, totaling 10,549 LF (1.99 miles), all performed using SEC resources. The project also included eight jack-and-bores (J&Bs), totaling 1,020 LF (0.20 miles), to accommodate various crossings.

AGL divided the project into four segments for better management and execution. Segment 1A included 8,339 LF (1.58 miles), Segment 1B totaled 37,234 LF (7.05 miles), Segment 1C accounted for 9,862 LF (1.87 miles), and Segment 1D added another 2,566 LF (0.49 miles) to the overall project length.
