Honoring the One Year Anniversary of Helene Recovery, (Asheville, NC)

One year ago, Hurricane Helene tore through communities across the Southeast with no warning, leaving devastation in its path. But in the aftermath of destruction, resilience rose. This special Faces of SEC anniversary video reflects on the men and women who stepped up when it mattered most, our crews who cleared roads, restored critical services, and supported families during one of the most underestimated storms in recent history. As we mark the one-year anniversary of Hurricane Helene, we honor their strength, determination, and recovery efforts that carried communities forward.

The Cesmas family, (Townsend, Delaware)

Dana, a dedicated Project Manager, and Shane, an experienced Superintendent, have built their lives and careers together while working on transmission projects. Living life on the road in their camper has allowed them to keep their family close, no matter where their work takes them. According to Dana and Shane, SEC has provided the stability and success they’ve always strived for, turning their decision to join the company into a life-changing opportunity. Their journey is one of love, family, and dedication—both to each other and to their work. Watch now and be inspired by how they’re building their future together with Southeast Connections.

Robert Ojeda, Foreman (Conyers, GA)

Following his father’s advice to start a career in the natural gas industry, Roberto joined SEC six years ago as a laborer. From that entry-level position, his passion for the job and ability to learn quickly led him to advance to become a foreman.

Anissa Juliana, Leadman/Operator (Wilmington, NC)

After graduating from her Gas Technician Program, Anissa’s chance meeting with Area Manager Michael Dempsey led her to take a leap of faith and move across the country to start a career with SEC. Today, she continues to grow and take on new opportunities.

Claudia Ruiz, Human Resources Business Partner (Greensboro, NC)

Claudia shows us that with dedication and determination, anything is possible. Growing up working in her family’s business and seeing her parents struggle with a language barrier, she honed her translation skills and cultural awareness as a young girl and today leverages those skills working for SEC.
