Position Overview:
This position assist the planning, development and implementation of all warehouse procedures and activities required to meet corporate goals. Assist with the receiving, storing, packing, and shipping of merchandise or materials. Maintains inventory records and schedules. Extremely knowledgeable with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Typically reports to a Manager or Department Head.
Essential Functions:
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Daily control of inventory movement including up to date record keeping.
- Maintain correct storage of inventory. Keeping it in locked areas as space will allow and in numeric order. Maintain and label overstock.
- Physically pull inventory and set controls to prevent losses.
- Monitor and report inventory used for shop, test supplies, scrap and construction expense weekly.
- Maintain log for material deliveries for production supervisors.
- Create weekly inventory, tooling, and supplies orders based off of min/max system.
- Physically receive inventory into the warehouse, verify item numbers and quantity.
- Perform cycle counts for warehouse and crews. Assist with yearend count.
- Checkout, track and order parts for specialty (high value) tools.
- Pickup materials in the surrounding area for warehouse.
- Ensure that dumpsters and trash are emptied in a timely fashion and keep warehouse and yard clean, orderly, mowed and weeded.
- Individually bag items received into the WH with their specific lot/heat numbers, duplicate stickers for items, and upload to a shared drive for CAD department
- Track material MTRs for steel fittings and upload to shared drive
- Work with supervisors to forecast job material and balance backorders effectively
- Work with Vendors to ensure that invoices and packing slips match before they are sent for approval
- Proactively teach new foremen on the WH system, dailies and usages completion, and Locusview processes and expectations
- Calibration of gauges/tools and small tooling repair, as well as tracking these items on crews
- Ability to operate telehandler and wheel loaders. No operator certifications necessary.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s Degree a plus
- Knowledge and experience in implementing warehouse policies and procedures
- Ability to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs
- Ability to use critical thinking skills to analyze situations and drive decisions
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style
- Excels at operating in a fast pace environment
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Excellent computer skills and proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook
